House Description
 Just recently reopened to the public, this newly remodeled villa
is nothing short of spectacular. Perched on an oceanfront lot on
the Caribbean coast, Mariposa's new face is a beautiful blend of
Indonesian and Caribbean furnishings and modern convenience. Professionally
decorated, this wonderful mix of bamboo, rattan, and exotic wood
furniture, set off against lovely fabrics, blends well with quality
soft leather pieces. Throughout this unique vacation villa, you
see the ample use of Mexican tiles, marble, beautifully color washed
walls, and handcrafted finishings.
This
fully air conditioned 3500 sq. ft. villa is stylish, comfortable,
and has many features not found in most weekly vacation villas.
Upon entering Casa Mariposa, you are drawn to the magnificent view
of the Caribbean as you pass through the expansive living/dining
area with it’s vaulted and domed ceiling. If you can tear your
eyes away from this tranquil vista, the living room’s complete
entertainment center boasts a 43 inch large screen TV with American
Satellite, a DVD player with a large selection of movies and a stereo/CD
player. The dining area is also impressive with the large dining
table which has seating for eight set against the background of
a wall of Mayan stones. From the dining room is access to the fully
equipped kitchen with a bar area which has additional seating.
Casa Mariposa offers four bedrooms, each with King size beds and
private bathrooms, as well as TV and DVD player. All rooms are unique
with attention given to finest detail. Two of the luxurious bedrooms
are located on this first floor. The first of the four bedrooms
is located off to the right of the living area and has easy access
to the patio/pool area. This bedroom has a King bed and is one of
the three with a fabulous view of the ocean. The second bedroom
located near the entrance has Twin beds that can be put together
to form a King and has a private terrace with lovely view of the
lush garden.
 On
the second floor are two Master suites, both with a King bed and
private, cozy sitting areas. Above the sitting areas of both suites
are domed ceilings of hand made brick and each sitting area has
soft leather couches from which to enjoy the spectacular ocean views
in comfort. One of the couches is a sofa bed which can also be used
to sleep 2 additional people.
Located on the beautiful Riviera Maya and tucked quietly within
the exclusive gated community of Puerto Aventuras, you will find
yourself in the ideal location to embrace all that Mexico has to
offer!

The house has been very comfortable and the ocean view is breath-taking.
We have enjoyed the shops and the restaurants. We really enjoyed Richards Steak House
but most of all we really liked having Cheli cook breakfast and dinner for us. She is an excellent cook. All of us really enjoyed ourselves and we would love to come back. Three of us went out with Captain Rick's fishing Charter and caught a Blue Marlin!! Hope everyone has as good a trip as we have!!

We had a wonderful visit to the Mayan Riviera, and this was the perfect place to stay. We had a rental care and so we drove to Playa del Carmen to have
Coco Locos at the Blue Parrot and then had dinner at one of the Italian Restaurants. We drove to Tulum and spent a day on the ancient beaches there.
We also spent a lot of time physically and mentally in neutral right here at the villa. New Orleans, our home, is laid back... but not like this!

Wow, what a blessing this vacation was!! We came as a group of eight. Each of us will take back memories of this beautiful land, from the view right in front
of our villa to the beautiful views of Tulum. Our amazing day at Tres Rios and Chichen Itza to our day of shopping in Playa del Carmen. And our days of just
lounging around the villa and marina....so peaceful. If there is one thing you shouldn't miss it is Tres Rios. We did the all-inclusive package ($75.00) and we
got to ride horses, kayak, bike ride, drive reef runners, and snorkel. All our drinks and lunch were included. It was an amazing day. We also met some
amazing people here. Gina, Rufino, and Cheli are the nicest people around. Definitely have Cheli make dinner for you. She's an awesome cook.
Check out the shipwreck museum located in the marina. Very interesting things to see. I hope your group has the enjoyment of the villa, the people,
places and food as we did.

Words cannot describe the wonderful vacation I had here! From Cancun to Tulum, Chicken Hza to the ocean, the Yucatan Penninsula is a great joy! Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen. Lastly, I found the prices in the town store to be cheaper than most markets! Save time and money - Shop in town.

Don't miss Xcaret! The show at night is worth admission. We also enjoyed Tulum. The beach there is a joy! Go to 5th ave. in Playa Del Carmen for shopping. We loved Cheli's meals! If you like Chiles Rellono, you won't find better! The week went by too fast!

Don't miss the beaches at Akumal X-4. A day on the beach at La Playa Restaurant near X-4 is what a mexican vacation is all about! Sun, sand, drinks, a beach chair and the caribbean breeze! Muy Bueno!! We also enjoyed swimming and jumping off a 20 foot cliff at the Jardin del Eden Cenote. And of course, Playa Del Carmen was great for shopping and eating. But the pool at the villa is hard to beat!!
