House Description
 Villas Sacbe is a complex of twelve newly constructed luxury condominiums in the most premium location in all of Playa del Carmen - steps away from the most vibrant portion of famed 5th Avenue and about 100 meters from the beach. Dozens of high quality restaurants and shops are literally steps away from your door. The main entrance on quaint 1st Avenue affords you easy access to the beach on one side and to shopping and dining on the other.
Unit 8 is a three-story Penthouse unit with a private, custom Jacuzzi on the rooftop. In addition to the Jacuzzi, the private rooftop terrace offers views of the turquoise Caribbean located approximately 100 meters away. The architecture of the unit is very unique and charming, with a sturdy grass thatch "palapa" roof over the living room/loft area, a striking circular shaped living room and master bedroom, and three large terraces spread out over three floors. Luxury features abound - gleaming Tikul stone floors; a custom and oversized marble Jacuzzi bath in the master bathroom; marble tile from floor to ceiling in all three bathrooms; and custom commercial-for-the-home kitchen appliances from Kitchen Aid and Viking.
The large circular shaped master bedroom on the lower floor has a king sized bed and French double doors leading to a large private terrace overlooking the pool and courtyard. The Master bedroom's private bathroom features a custom Jacuzzi bath with sliding Japanese Shinjo doors that open to the terrace if desired.
The 2nd bedroom on the lower floor has a queen sized bed and private bathroom. The 3rd bedroom on the upper floor has a queen sized bed with an adjoining bathroom that can also be accessed from the main hallway. The loft, also equipped with a full sized futon, can be used as a sleeping area if desired, though it is quite small, with just enough room to unfold the futon. Finally, the futon in the living room can be used to sleep two as well if desired. The two lower-floor bedrooms have their own 21" TVs and DVD/VCRs.
 The circular living room features a dramatic tee-pee shaped palapa ceiling 1.5 stories above and a cozy loft extending about a third of the way out over the living room area. The kids will likely enjoy the fun built-in wooden ladder that reaches from the living room to the loft. The adults may prefer the more conventional route, using the door from the rooftop terrace to access the loft. The living room, like the master bedroom, also features double French doors that access yet another large terrace overlooking the central courtyard and swimming pool. The terrace, with protection from the overhanging grass palapa roof, is the intended location for dining around a table. The two square teak patio tables can be arranged separately or together to accommodate a variety of dining configurations. During inclement weather, the tables can be easily moved into the living room for indoor dining. The living room is equipped with a 29" TV, DVD/VCR, and stereo.
The kitchen is very nicely appointed, though petite. All appliances are high-end stainless steel models specially imported from the United States. The large capacity, counter-depth refrigerator from Kitchen Aid uses a special device to pump purified water from a standard 5-gallon bottle to the icemaker and water-dispenser in the door. The full sized dishwasher from Kitchen Aid means that clean up after a meal at home is a snap. The Kitchen Aid oven, Viking cook top, and KitchenAid Microwave give you all the flexibility you need in the cooking department. This type and quality of appliance suite is virtually unheard of in Playa. The kitchen accoutrements are rounded out with a custom marble countertop, ceramic tile backsplash, and hand-shaped peninsula that doubles as food prep area and cozy table for 2 or 4.
A wide variety of television and telecommunications services are available to our guests free of charge. These include cable and DirecTV television services, high-speed internet service, and internet phone service, from which you may make unlimited calls to the U.S. and Canada for free. Data outlets are found throughout the unit in all rooms and terraces - just plug your laptop into your private network wherever you feel like working or use the provided PC. Answering a few emails out on the terrace with a Mai-Tai in hand doesn't sound so bad, does it. Since telecommunications services in Playa del Carmen are sometimes sporadic, we cannot guarantee they will be available 100% of the time. We are providing them on a "best effort" basis as a free bonus when available.
Nearby Attractions
Playa del Carmen has many nearby attractions. There are a variety of Mayan ruins such as Chitzen Itza, Coba, and Tulum. Nearby Cozumel is famous for its SCUBA diving and snorkeling. Miles of sandy beaches are just steps away. Golf and tennis are available for the more active minded. And of course, loads of shopping and dining are available on 5th Avenue.

Our stay at Villa Scabe 8 was a dream come true! This was the first time that we took our children to Playa del Carmen and they loved the Villa so much that they didn't want to leave! The Playa Beach Rental staff was WONDERFUL - I asked alot of questions and they were always prompt in responding, fun to deal with and had lots of great suggestions. We will be returning to Playa next February and we hope that this beautiful Villa is available. We have told everyone about this wonderful place and the great staff, so look forward to getting calls!

The reason I was emailing you was to tell you how wonderful your place was. I have been going to Playa for 20 years and have seen all the changes and "upgrades" the town has made. I have stayed in approximately 40 different homes, condos, or suites in hotels. Your unit by far is so beautifully appointed and has the easiest access to everything Playa has to offer. Your place allowed us to use every minute we had there and with half the effort that we are used to. I am interested in renting again for a couple of months the beginning of next year. A few steps out the door and we had the pick of dozens of different restaurants, yet inside the villa it was peaceful as could be. The pictures on the internet were great but they truly don't do the place justice. The free internet and free long distance calling were a great convenience as well. Thanks for a great vacation.

We had a great time at your villa. It worked out ideally for our three generation crew. Your cleaning service is phenomenal - so thorough and diligent. We loved the big beach towels and the plethora of other towels. We went to the beach every day - down to the Azul Profundo and to the left, sometimes beyond the point and the pier, and sometimes in front of the large hotel. What a great beach. Ideal temperature, right sized waves. Your bathrooms are terrific - luxurious, clean, well thought through. I would rate Sacbe Unit 8 a 10 for a vacation rental! It's location and appointment were unbelievable: a block and a half to a fabulous beach; within a block of the shopping, action street.... In addition, YOU were extremely responsive and easy to deal with, as well as helpful.

The best vacation spot that I have ever been to. Owner has gone all out with top notch accommodations. This place has been furnished to accommodate singles, families and the business person who needs to do a little work while they are on vacation.
Beach access is just across the street and shopping, restaurants and entertainment on the other side of the street. No need to rent a car as everything is within walking distance. If you feel like venturing outside of the city you can easily grab a cab or a bus to any of the near by attractions.

We had a wonderful vacation! The condo is gorgeous! We loved the marble throughout. The location is perfect-- only one block from the beach and one block from 5th avenue. It was so nice to have the full kitchen and washer and dryer right in the condo. The free calls to the U.S. was a great convenience. We enjoyed the huge DVD selection. Our two week stay at Villas Sacbe Unit 8 over the Christmas holidays was simply fabulous. The location was absolutely perfect, with all the shops and restaurants of 5th Avenue only steps away from our door. And with the beach being only a block away, we really couldn't have asked for more. Despite being so close to all the action, our unit was really very secluded and private.
We were very nicely surprised by the quality of the amenities. We really weren't expecting to find such a nicely equipped kitchen -- we're usually accustomed to finding a pretty basic kitchen when we rent vacation condos, especially in Mexico. The luxury of having an automatic ice-maker/water dispenser in the door of the fridge is practically unheard of -- and very convenient on the Margarita front. Since we enjoy cooking some of our meals in while vacationing, the gourmet appliances were a real treat too. And with us having such a large group, the full-size refrigerator was a real plus.
The uniqueness of the condo really made our stay memorable as well. The grass thatch roof, the cute little loft with its built-in ladder, the beautiful terraces with views of the courtyard and ocean, the beautiful stone floors, and any number of other nice touches – not to mention the washer and dryer (a must with kids) – all add up to an incredible stay. All in all one of our best vacations ever.
We will be visiting again sometime soon.

I just got back from a 7 day vacation to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I stayed at the Villa Sacbe in Villa #8 and have to say it is by far the vacation of a lifetime. This villa is everything you need for a dream vacation. It is centrally located between the beach and 5th Avenue and yet you hear none of the hustle and bustle from the populated streets. Villa 8 provides a warm welcome of beverages upon checking in and provides ample modern conveniences including state-of-the-art appliances, entertainment systems and every kitchen gadget you need along with a filtered water refrigerator. The bar is stocked full and goes on the honor system unlike hotels that charge you double their worth. Simply replace what you use with something comparable. The obvious frequent inspections by the maid shows a standard of maintenance and cleanliness. The rooftop private Jacuzzi provided an oasis from the fast night life that surrounds the villa. I am extremely picky about where I stay on vacation and Villa Sacbe #8 met all my personal high standards of comfort, cleanliness and luxury!
